Abstract

1,227,200. Two-part couplings. MITSUBISHI DENKI K.K. 20 Dec., 1968 [29 Dec., 1967], No. 60686/68. Heading H2E. A circuit interrupter 1 is adapted to receive conductors greater in diameter and/or number than can be directly connected thereto by means of a plug-in terminal block 2. The block 2 has a housing 12 containing four or more terminal sockets 9 with screws 10 for clamping ends of conductors inserted through bores 3 in the housing 12. Each pair of adjacent sockets 9 is welded to a shorter leg 11 of an L-shaped conductive strip 11, each longer leg 11b forming a blade contact to engage corresponding forked terminals (not shown) in the interrupter 1. The housing 12 may be secured to a distribution board by a screw through a hole 13, and a flush cover plate 4 closes apertures in both the interrupter 1 and the block 2. The plate 4 is secured by a screw 5 which passes into the interrupter housing and is sealed by a wire 7 and a sealing bead 8.
