Abstract
1,227,161. Delivering measured quantities of fluent material. ENGLISH GLASS CO. Ltd. 29 July, 1969 [6 May, 1968], No. 21407/68. Heading B8N. A dispensing device for mounting in the neck of a container 1 comprises two passages 13, 14 separated by a partition 10, the passage 13 being closed by a wall 15 and communicating with the interior of the container via a single aperture 16. Both passages communicate with a chamber 12 and the passage 14 is open at the end remote from the chamber. An end cap 7 is a friction fit on wall 6 and the device is a friction fit in the container. In use the container is inverted and material therein flows into volume 17 of the passage 13 via aperture 16 which is tapered. Upon being righted the material in volume 17 flows into chamber 12, and upon further inversion the material in chamber 12 is dispensed via the passage 14. In the embodiment of Fig. 3, the partition 30 and a closure 27 for the passage communicating with the interior of the container are integral and form part of a body 26 which is a friction fit within outer housing 22.
