Abstract
1,226,235. Portable closets. THETFORD CORP. 17 Feb., 1969 [25 April, 1968], No. 8591/69. Heading E1C. [Also in Division A4] A portable closet for, e.g. camping, is made in two sections which are detachably secured together, viz., an upper section 14 with a seat 40 and a bowl 16 surrounded by a fresh water tank 22, and a lower section 12 incorporating a holding-tank 58 and an upper inlet in register with the bowl outlet 18 and controlled by a pedal-operated sliding valve 68 forming part of the lower section. Flush water is pumped manually via a pump 32 to a perforated flush ring 26 or vortex spray nozzle (Fig. 10, not shown). The sections are clipped together at the sides (Fig. 2, not shown), and handles 70, 72 are moulded in the lower section, as is a disdischarge spout 74 (Fig. 3, not shown) which has a closure cap 76.
