Abstract

1,226,215. Sawtooth generating circuits. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGS G.m.b.H. 25 March, 1968 [25 March, 1967], No. 14275/68. Heading H3P. A deflection circuit for a cathode-ray tube comprises a charging capacitor 11 for supplying a sawtooth waveform to an amplifier 14, 1 which has deflection coils 3 in its output circuit, capacitor 11 being periodically discharged via a switching diode 7 under control of flyback pulses regeneratively fed back from the amplifier output, a clamping diode 15 being included so that the voltage across capacitor 11 at the start of each sweep is substantially independent of fluctuations of flyback pulses. In the field deflection circuit shown, for a TV receiver, each sweep is terminated by capacitor 9 being charged sufficiently via resistor 18 so as to turn on diode 7 which is then maintained conductive by regenerative feedback of flyback pulses through capacitor 6. The charging capacitor 11 is charged negatively via an amplitude control 23 from a voltage derived by rectification at 25 of blanking pulses. Alternatively, the negative voltage may be derived from the line output stage. Linearizing feedback is provided to the base of transistor 14.
