Abstract
1,225,911. Mounting rotors for dynamoelectric machines. BROWN, BOVERI & CO. Ltd. 23 May, 1969 [27 May, 1968], No. 26409/69. Heading H2A. A gearless drive for a drum 1, e.g. of a cement mill, comprises a ring 5 attached to the exterior of the drum and formed with circumferentially spaced projections 6 whose outer portions are gripped by resilient elements 9 located in recesses 7 in a pole wheel rotor 8 encircling the ring 5 and surrounded by a stator 2, said elements 9 absorbing unequal circumferential forces and permitting radial sliding movement of the projections relative to the rotor to accommodate thermal expansion of the drum. As shown in Fig. 2, the elements 9 are E-shaped and two elements arranged face-to-face are located on each side of a projection 6 between stops 10 on the rotor and pads 11 on the projection.
