Abstract

1,223,303. Coated paper. ROLLS-ROYCE Ltd. 15 Aug., 1969 [17 May, 1968], No. 23501/ 68. Heading B2E. A coated paper comprises a release paper e.g. a silicone impregnated paper having a coating of resin e.g. an epoxy resin overlaid with a coating of a protective powder e.g. talc, powdered graphite, powdered plaster or powdered clay. The coated paper may be produced by feeding silicone impregnated paper from drum 10 through oven 11 where an epoxy-novolac resin containing boron trifluoride is fed from hopper 12, the resin being spread by rollers 14, the resin coated paper being fed under hopper 16 containing talc, the talc coating being spread by brush 18 prior to rolling the paper. In alternative embodiments, the resin may be spread by a knife or applied by reverse roll coating.
