Abstract

1,223,139. Transformers. DYNAMIC INSTRUMENT CORP. 18 Oct., 1968 [12 March, 1968], No. 49433/68. Heading HIT. [Also in Division H2] A plug-in transformer assembly for attachment to a mains electric A.C. outlet comprises a transformer 12 with winding 15 and rigid electrically conductive plug pins 14 connected thereto. The assembly includes a tubular support for windings, a heat-conductive magnetic core 16 and an insulated cable 28 connected to the transformer output. The aforesaid components are enclosed in a compressed, injection moulded plastics case 11, e.g. of nylon, polyethylene or p.v.c., such that the pins 14 and the cable 28 emerge from the casing as shown. A rectifier and a smoothing condenser may be included in the casing to deliver a D.C. output. A third conductive pin may be provided in the housing for earthing purposes. The assembly, with a step-down transformer 12 may be used to feed an electric razor or a battery trickle charger.
