Abstract

1,222,845. Clamps. M. C. BALENCON. 24 June, 1968 [23 June, 1967], No. 30046/68. Heading E2B. [Also in Division A4] A towel rail comprises two L-shaped, tubular sections 11, 12 with mutually telescoping limbs 13, 14 and with transverse limbs 15, 16 each carrying an adjustably positioned clamp 10, the clamp 10 being drawn towards each other to clamp onto a radiator 17 by means of a tension spring 21 contained in the limbs 13, 14 and secured by ties 20 anchored in notches 19 in caps 18 secured to the rail ends. Each clamp 10 comprises a resilient U-shaped clip with mutually inclined apertured flanges through which the limbs 15, 16 are passed to be gripped by the clip 10 due to its resilience. The clip 10 has a nib 22 for alternative use in engaging a rib (24, Fig. 3) on the end of a flat radiator (23).
