1,221,528. Advancing mine roof supports. BERGWERKSVERBAND G.m.b.H. 23 Jan., 1968 [2 Feb., 1967; 14 Feb., 1967], No. 3457/68. Heading E1P. In a longwall system of mining comprising an advancing mine roof support 3 connected to a conveyor 2 and to an adjacent support by a pivotal arrangement of jacks 6, 7 and 28, 31 respectively, misalignment of the support 3 relative to the conveyor is automatically recified by sensing devices 16 controlling a supply of pressure fluid to either side of the aligning jack 28, 31. The devices 16 control the supply of low pressure air from a source 11 to valves such as 22 having a diaphragm 21 which in turn controls . a supply of hydraulic fluid to one side of the double acting jack 28, 31.
