Abstract

1,221,312. Polyvinyl formal resin compositions. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 13 March. 1969 [27 March, 1968], No. 14627/68. Headings C3P and C3R. [Also in Divisions B2 and C2] A resin composition comprises a polyvinyl formal resin, a polyfunctional blocked isocyanate and a short chain hydroxyl terminated polyester of the formula wherein X is CH 2 , O or S = O. The components are suitably mixed together in a solvent, preferably a mixture of cresylic acid and aromatic naphtha. Melamine formaldehyde resins and/or phenolformaldehyde resins and curing catalysts such as dibutyl tin dilaurate or butyl titanate may also be added to the composition. The composition may be cured by heating at 350‹ to 400‹ C.
