Abstract

1,221,131. Polymer derivatives. GEVAERTAGFA N.V. 3 March, 1969 [26 March, 1968], No. 14522/68. Heading C3P. [Also in Division G2] Poly-(2-vinyl-imidazoline) is prepared by stirring and heating to 80‹ C. polyacrylonitrile and ethylenediamine with thioacetamide as a catalyst in a reflux condenser. Poly (2 - vinyl - 3,4,5,6 - tetrahydropyridinium chloride) is prepared by stirring and heating to 80‹ C. polyacrylonitrile and 1,3-propanediamine with thioacetamide as a catalyst in a reflux condenser. Finally, the resulting product in aqueous solution is treated with hydrochloric acid.
