Abstract

1,220,643. Electrical terminals. VOSSLOHWERKE G.m.b.H. 22 April, 1969 [22 April, 1968], No. 20612/69. Heading H2E. A terminal block comprises one or more terminal members 4 constituted by a resilient metallic strip, e.g. of phosphor bronze, bent into a substantially U-shape and housed in an insulating housing 1. The terminal member 4 has a screw thread 6 formed to engage a screw 7 to clamp a lead entering at opening 3 and resting in a channel formation 8 extending substantially to lug 9. Lugs 11 resiliently hold bared conductors entering at opening 2, and an opening 16 allows entry of a tool to disengage lugs 11 when necessary. The head of the screw 7 may engage the wall of its grinding passage 14 to resist its loosening. In a modification resilient lugs 19, Fig. 9, project in opposite directions. A second embodiment (Figs. 12, 13, not shown) has the resilient clamping means at the open end of the U-shaped terminal and the screw thread for screw 7 near the closed end. The housing may be mounted on an apparatus.
