Abstract

1,218,490. Chimney tops. F. J. NIEVELT. 8 Dec., 1969, No. 59800/69. Heading F4J. A protective cap for a chimney top 11 comprises inner and outer cylindrical sleeves 24 and 25, the length of the inner sleeve 24 being considerably greater than the diameter of the outer sleeve 25, the latter having a flared skirt 30 covering a collar 13 which incorporates a flat plate 14 engaging the roof. The cap is made of a polypropylene plastic incorporating an ultraviolet stabilizer and a gold flake coloration. The angle of the flared skirt with the longitudinal bias may be varied to suit the roof pitch and the skirt is scored accordingly (Fig. 5). In a modification (Fig. 6) the outer sleeve is made of two telescopic parts.
