Abstract

1,218,177. Bearings. MAVOR & COULSON Ltd. 30 April, 1968 [2 March, 1967], No. 9955/67. Heading F2A. A rolling bearing assembly for mounting a roller 17 comprises a housing 1 having a cylindrical well, a stub shaft 8 in the well, and axially inner and outer rolling bearings 3, 4, the inner races 5 of which are fitted to the shaft, and the outer races 6 to the housing. A labyrinth seal 13 is held in place by a spring ring 14. The bearing assembly is secured in the roller by crimping a portion of the roller wall over a bevelled corner 1A of the housing.
