Abstract

1,218,143. Line guide fastening in fishing rods. ABU AB. 24 March, 1969 [9 April, 1968], No. 15267/69. Heading A1A. A method of fastening a line guide on to a fishing rod comprises the provision of a metal wire bent into circular shape 1 forming the guiding ring, the free ends of which are formed into open ended elastically expandable rings 2 and 3 which fit, and are clamped, by axial plastic deformation, in a mortise shaped outer peripheral groove 4 in a plastically deformable sleeve 5. Sleeve 5 encompasses the rod axially and is held in position by a binding protruding into an internal peripheral recess 6 formed therein. The sleeve material may be aluminium.
