Abstract
1,218,096 Making honeycomb blocks TOKYO SHIBAURA ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. 8 May, 1968 [9 May, 1967], No. 21860/68. Heading B3A. [Also in Divisions D1 and H5] A method of making a honeycomb block used for the collimation of radiations comprises, winding a wire around a core, withdrawing the core and bonding together a plurality of the coils so made. The wire is of molybdenum or tungsten and may be either circular or polygonal, e.g. rectangular in cross-section, the cross-sections of the cores being also circular or polygonal. The bonding material is a paste consisting of copper powder and a butyl or vinyl acetate solution. Alternatively the bonding material may be a ceramic adhesive or an epoxy resin or powders of the metal from which the coils are made dissolved in a solvent and thermally fused to the coils.
