Abstract

1,217,954. Ingot strippers. JUNKERATHER MASCHINENBAU G.m.b.H. 19 Jan., 1968 [21 Feb., 1967], No. 3090/68. Heading B3F. A fluid-operated ingot stripper mounted below a mould support 16 has, for holding a mould, tongs 7 pivoted on a pair of links 9 which are tiltable on a bolt 10 connected to a pair of lugs 11 on the base 5 of a double-acting floating cylinder 4 reciprocable in a guide ring 15; a piston 1 in the cylinder has an ingotstripper ram 2 mounted on one side and in its lower position is supported on the other side by push rods 3 resting on uprights 6. The uprights 6 are mounted on a bearing plate 12 secured to a foundation and guide the up and down movement of the pivot bolt 10 of the links 9. The tongs 7 are pivoted on the links 9 by bolts 8 which also pass through elongated holes 13 of links 14 by which the moving portion of the apparatus is loosely connected to the fixed plate 12. Fluid passed to the upper part of the cylinder 4 raises it together with the rest of the moving portion, the tongs 7 being spread by a cylinder and piston 17, 18a to receive a mould. Fluid then passed to the lower part of the cylinder 4 lowers the device until the tongs rest on the mould lugs as indicated, and the piston and ram is raised to eject the ingot.
