Abstract

1,216,515. Blended yarns. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 6 Feb., 1969 [25 Jan., 1968], No. 4001/68. Heading D1W. A blended yarn comprises at least 95% by weight of filaments or fibres having a high electrical resistance i.e. greater than 50 x 10<10> drums, and derived from synthetic polymeric materials e.g. polyamide, together with not more than 5% by weight of electrically conductive filaments or fibres e.g. rayon or metallic staple fibres. The yarn is preferably used in the manufacture of carpets, the blended yarn reducing the static electricity built up in the carpet.
