Abstract

1,212,732. Electroluminescence. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. 11 Jan., 1968 [13 Jan., 1967], No. 1713/68. Heading C4S. [Also in Divisions H2 and H3] Electrical connection to a transparent electrically conducting layer 12, sandwiched between a transparent glass or plastics substrate 10 and a protective insulating layer 13 to form a panel, is made by means of a conductive paste, e.g. containing silver flakes and resin binder, deposited in a groove formed by oblique cuts in the protective layer 13 and conducting layer 12 and surrounding at least the greater part of the panel surface. Alternatively, a single cut may be made at an edge of the panel (Fig. 2, not shown). The invention may provide connection to an electroluminescent panel.
