A device for filling an aerosol container with a propellent and an agent, the aerosol being of the kind in which the propellent and agent are contained in separate containers 53, 41, includes a flowpath P for the propellent and a flowpath D for the agent whereby the aerosol container may be filled with propellent and agent either simultaneously or separately. In operation, the filling head 2 is lowered on to the aerosol container A until the stem 47 of the aerosol valve comes against stop members 64, the rim 32 of the filling nozzle 33 deflecting at the same time a sealing gasket 45 towards the interior of the aerosol container, the stem 47 then engaging sealing gasket 35 and thus opening duct 48 in stem 47 to the container 53 via aperture 48a. Then an electromagnet 26 is energized to lift a magnetic core 25 from its seating 29 so that the propellent can flow from the source through duct 8, chamber 24, ducts 31 and 48 and into container 53. Either simultaneously or later, the agent is supplied through duct 16 to duct 34, into nozzle 33, past gasket 45, into chamber 44, and through tube 56 into container 41. Air present in container 41 may then escape as indicated by arrows M as it is replaced by the agent. The propellent and agent are supplied from their respective sources to the filling head 2 via metering devices (9) and (17) respectively, Fig. 1 (not shown).
