Abstract

1,212,131. Windscreen wipers. E. HULL and E. SPENCER. 4 June, 1969 [12 June, 1968; 29 Oct., 1968], Nos. 27859/68 and 51212/68. Heading A4F. A windscreen wiper blade 1 mounted by a flange 2 in an undercut channel 3 extending along the concave side of a flexible arcuate holder 4 which may be of plastics, rubber, spring steel, or a combination of these. The wiper arm 8 is secured by a screw (not shown) to a pivot pin 6 mounted in a trunnion 5 integral with the holder 4. In an alternative construction the holder 4 is straight for part of its length and has an arcuate end portion, the wiper arm being secured by a screw to a hinged part projecting from the holder 4. Part of the holder 4 may be of scoop-like shape so that it holds the wiper blade firmly on the windscreen when the windspeed is high.
