Abstract
1,212,105. Malonodithioamides. BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK A.G. 10 April, 1968 [12 April, 1967], No. 17183/68. Heading C2C. Malonodithioamides which may bear a single substituent other than an amino group on the α-carbon atom are produced by reacting an α- aminomalononitrile having two substituents on the N atom and optionally having a substituent other than a second amino group on the α-carbon atom with at least a stoichiometric amount of H 2 S. The reaction is preferably carried out at a temperature of -30‹ to + 50‹ C. in the presence of an inert solvent and a catalyst. Suitable catalysts are secondary and tertiary amines. In the examples, N,N- dimethylaminomalononitrile is converted to malonodithioamide.
