Battery lamps.-A modified switch for a lamp of the kind described in the parent Specification comprises a metal strip A attached to the zine electrode of one cell 3 and having its upper end bent down at B and up again at C so as to clip the bent end of a resilient strip F, the other end of which is also bent so that it can be depressed into contact with a flange of the bulb-holder 11. The reflector described in the parent Specification is omitted, and the bulb-holder screws into the. thick cover 15 and may have additional means for securing it. An insulating-tube 10 surrounds the middle cell and extends up to the cover 15, the spaces within the wrapping above the outer cells being filled with sawdust H and pitch I. In a tcrch, the connecting-strip A extends down to the lowest of three cells, the two upper ones being surrounded by an insulating-tube. A smaller tube protects the central terminal of the uppermost cell, this tube being surrounded by pitch.
