Abstract

1,211,019. Partitioned containers. DART INDUSTRIES Inc. 2 Nov., 1967 [4 Nov., 1966], No. 49822/67. Heading B8P. A container comprises a base having bowed side walls, end walls and a bottom wall, and a separately formed partition adapted to slidingly engage the side walls so as to vary the size of the compartments provided thereby. The partition comprises a planar portion and a pair of resilient fingers 23 integral therewith at each end of the planar portion, which fingers engage the side walls 17. The partition is also provided with base flanges 22. When the partition is positioned centrally in the container base the fingers are bowed, but when adjacent an end wall substantially the whole of the surface of the fingers engages the side wall. The container may also be provided with two trays, and a lid (Figs. 1 and 2, not shown), which sealingly engages the peripheral wall portions of the base. The container base may be made from a material, e.g. low or medium density polyethylene, which is more flexible than that from which the partition is made e.g. high density polyethylene.
