Abstract

1,210,326. Continuous casting machines. MANNESMANN-MEER A.G. 19 Nov., 1968 [28 Dec., 1967], No. 54808/68. Heading B3F. Apparatus for controlling the axially reciprocative movement of a continuous casting mould, comprises bearing means 2 attached to the mould, a rocker lever 11 pivoted at 12 about a fixed bearing adjacent the mould, a support link 14 articulating the bearing means 2 to the end of the lever 11 and link means 3, 4 extending laterally of the mould and articulated between the mould and fixed bearings 7 adjacent the mould. Eight bearing means 2 on the wall of the mould are arranged in two planes spaced along the longitudinal axis of the mould. The lateral link means comprises a central link 3 pivoted at its ends to two side links 4 which are pivoted to fixed bearings 7, or the system of levers 18, 19 and 19<SP>1</SP> shown in Fig. 3. The lever 11 is preferably bifurcated, the arms engaging pins 13 at two opposite sides of the mould. Movement of the lever 11 is effected by a rod 9 and a crank 8.
