Abstract

1,210,294. Photographic material. EASTMAN KODAK CO. June 20, 1968 [June 23, 1967; May 15, 1968], No. 29397/68. Heading G2C. A photographic material having a low image spread comprises a support bearing in order (1) an antihalation layer whose colour can be discharged during processing, (2) a first emulsion layer containing relatively fine silver halide grains dispersed in a binder and free from diffusing materials which cannot be removed during processing, and (3) an image-recording layer comprising relatively coarse light-sensitive silver halide grains dispersed in a binder. The antihalation layer may contain a mixture of six specified dyes dispersed in gelatine, layer (2) preferably contains red- and greenabsorbing substances, and layer (3) is preferably panchromatically sensitized.
