Abstract

1,210,142. Filament dispensers. H. W. AIKEN. 25 Feb., 1969 [6 March, 1968], No. 10903/68. Heading A4G. [Also in Division B8] A filament dispenser which frictionally engages a filament 5 whilst it is being withdrawn, and holds the filament end at other times, comprises a rigid flanged spool 1, and a slightly resilient annular cap 3 of substantially L-shaped cross-section, frictionaly retained on one flange of the spool 1, and leaving an annular slit 4 between the cap and the other spool flange, through which the filament may be withdrawn. Both components may be of plastics material. A wider spool may support a cap comprising two similar parts, one on each flange, the slit for filament withdrawal then being between the two parts (Fig. 3, not shown).
