Abstract
1,208,346. Monoazo dyes. BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK A.G. 2 Feb., 1968 [3 Feb., 1967], No. 5419/68. Heading C4P. The invention comprises monoazo dyes free from SO 3 H groups of formula wherein Ar is a phenyl or naphthyl radical which may be substituted, R 1 and R 2 are H or an alkyl group, X is a substituent which does not prevent azo coupling and Y is H, CH 3 or CH 3 CONH or X and Y together form a 4,5- tetramethylene group. The dyes are prepared by coupling diazotized 4-arylureido-anilines with p-substituted phenols. They are preferably used to dye synthetic polyamide and polyester materials in yellow shades.
