Abstract

1,207,539. Graphite aluminium base alloys. INTERNATIONAL NICKEL Ltd. Oct.2, 1967, No.27312/70. Divided out of 1, 207, 538. Heading C7A. A cast alloy, with good frictional characteristics, comprises:- Graphite 0À2 - 15% in the form of particles having an average diameter of at least 40 microns dispersed throughout the alloy, the balance, apart from incidental elements (e.g. B, Cd, Sb, Ti, V or Zr) and impurities, being Al in an amount of at least 50%. The alloys may be made by the method described and claimed in Specification 1, 207, 538.
