Abstract

1,207,471. Screen stencils. GENERAL MOTORS CORP. March 20, 1969 [April 11, 1968], No.14690/69. Heading G2M. Screen stencils (e.g. for printing electrical circuits) are made by (1) forming a stencil from a metal sheet according to a desired pattern, (2) coating a screen with a plastics photo-resist emulsion, (3) laminating the stencil to one side of the screen with the wet emulsion, (4) drying the photo-resist while applying uniform pressure to the screen and stencil, (4) placing a positive transparency of the pattern adjacent the other side of the screen, (5) exposing through the transparency, and (5) washing the unexposed photo-resistant from the screen.
