Abstract

1,207,469. Paints. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. 5 May, 1969 [3 June, 1968], No. 22736/69. Heading C3P. [Also in Divisions C6-C7] Paints for electrodeposition are prepared by: (a) reacting a non-heat hardenable phenolic resin with a vinyl toluenated maleinized linseed oil; (b) mixing styrene and methyl methacrylate with a silicone-modified unsaturated polyester from neopentyl glycol, maleic anhydride and tetrahydrophthalic anhydride; and (c) mixing methyl methacrylate with a copolymer of methyl methacrylate, ethyl acrylate, glycidyl methacrylate and methacrylic acid. The paints are dispersed in water with amines and pigments. The paint (a) is cured by heat and paints (b) and (c) are cured by radiation.
