Abstract

1,207,262. E.H.T. supplies. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP. 25 Jan., 1968 [2 Feb., 1967], No. 3895/68. Heading H2F. In an E.H.T. stabilizing circuit, for a cathoderay tube, of the type including rectification of the output of a controllable pulse-operated power stage, the control voltage is derived by combining with opposite polarity a first voltage produced by rectification of the rear portion of pulses derived from the power stage and a second voltage derived by rectification of the front portion of said pulses. As shown, the pulseoperated power stage 27 is coupled by means not shown, to a transformer, the output of which is rectified at 31 to produce the E.H.T. voltage. A negative pulse between terminals 1 and 2 of the transformer is differentiated at 28, the positive portion of which (corresponding to the rear edge of the pulse) is rectified at 4 and combined with the output of a rectifier 8, operative on the front portion of the pulse. The combined control voltage (adjustable at 12) is superimposed on a ripple voltage (derived from a capacitive divider 15, 32) and passed via a transistor 16 and rectifier 20 to the grid of the power tube 27 where it is further combined with the drive waveform supplied via capacitor 25 and flyback pulses supplied via capacitor 22. The voltage derived from the rear portion of the pulses acts to stabilize the E.H.T. voltage against supply variations whilst that derived from the front portion of the pulses compensates for the internal impedance of the E.H.T. circuit.
