Abstract

1,207,064. Pistons. J. E. SQUELCH. 21 March, 1969 [29 March, 1968], No. 15139/68. Heading F2T. A gudgeon-pin block 16 is connected to the piston 10 by means of a bayonet-type joint. The piston has diametrically opposite interior lugs 11, 12 and the block has cylindrical parts 17, 18 which slidably fit in the piston and flat sides 20, 21, whereby the block is entered in the piston between the lugs 11, 12 as shown dotted in Fig. 2 and then turned through 90 degrees so that it seats on the lugs. The gudgeon pin 19 fits in a bore in the block. Locking plates 24, 25 abutting the ends of the sides 20, 21 extend down between the lugs 11, 12 and are located by a circlip 13.
