A tenter clip capable of gripping different thicknesses of material has a base plate 36 on which the border of a strip to be stretched is placed. A clip lever 35 is pivoted at O to the clip body 33 so that the lower end 35-3 of the lever 35 is brought into abutting relationship with base plate 36. This lower end 35-3 is provided with a plurality of edges, i.e. 35-3-a and 35-3-b at an angular interval in the rotating direction of clip lever 35 and at different distances from the fulcrum point O of the lever.
