Abstract

1,205,276. Tunnels &c. W. KACIC. 4 March, 1968 [7 March, 1967; 23 Jan., 1968], No. 10489/68. Heading E1F. A beam supporting the roof or side walls of a tunnel comprises channels 1 connected by U- bolts 24, the channels being spaced apart by collapsable plastic tubes 27. The beam is temporarily supported in position in the tunnel, holes for anchor bolts 15 are drilled in the roof or walls, the anchor bolts are held in the holes by tightening nuts 26, and after the resin or cement fixing the anchor bolts in the holes has hardened the nuts 19 are tightened.
