Abstract

1,203,549. Recorders. J. MULLER. 8 May, 1969 [8 May, 1968], No. 23498/69. Heading G5J. In a recorder head 1 with a conical bore 4 and an air hole 6 with a concavely curved lip edge 7, the mouthpiece comprises a part 5 with an upper flat inclined surface 11 and a semicylindrical part 8 which together with the part 5 forms a wind way 9 tapering towards the air hole 7. The air hole may be circular, as shown in Fig. 3, or elliptical and the mouthpiece part 8 has a recess 13 surrounding the air hole. The head 1 is joined to the body tube 2 by means of a sleeve 3 and the recorder may be made of wood, metal, ivory or plastics material. At least the head and mouthpiece portion are preferably made of transparent plastics material, e.g. an acrylic resin. The finger holes in the body tube 2 are provided with inserted finger hole rings and the two lowest holes are divided by bridge-like inserts in the finger hole rings.
