Abstract
1,202,724. 4 - Chloro - 6 - alkyl - 4 - pregnenes. FARBWERKE HOECHST A.G. 25 Sept., 1967 [26 Sept., 1966], No. 43555/67. Heading C2U. Novel 3,3 - alkylenedioxy - 4 - chloro - 6 - alkyl - 17α - acyloxypregn - 4 - en - 20 - ones (I) are prepared by ketalizing the corresponding 3,20-diones. 17α - Acetoxy - 4 - chloro - 6α - methylpregn - 4 - ene - 3,20'- dione is prepared from the corresponding 4-dechloro compound via 17α - acetoxy 4#,5# - dichloro - 6α - methyl - pregnane - 3,20 - dione. Compounds I are stated to possess gestagenic activity and may be made up with carriers into pharmaceutical compositions.
