Abstract
1,202,696. Complete fertilizers. AN FORAS TALUNTAIS. 11 Sept., 1967 [9 Sept., 1966], No. 40370/66. Heading ClB. A moss peat composition comprises (per bushel of peat) 250 gm. of dolomite, 25-50 gm. of superphosphate, 25-75 gm. of potassium sulphate, 25-59 gm. of calcium ammonium nitrate, 0À4-0À5 gm. of borax, 0À6-0À9 gm. of copper sulphate, 1À5-1À8 gm. of ferrous sulphate, 0À6-1À2 gm. of manganese sulphate, 0À6-1À2 gm. of zinc sulphate and 0.1 gm. of sodium molybdate. The dolomite may be replaced by 200 gm. of limestone and 80 gm. of kieserite. The composition may also contain 0À8-1À0 gm. of chelated iron and 25 gm. of ureaform. The peat may be dried to a moisture content of 30% by heating at below 65 C. in a cyclone. The other ingredients may be added during the drying step. The mixture may then be compressed to a cake of 1/6 to 1/12 its original bulk size. A non-ionic wetting agent may be incorporated before the compression.
