Abstract

1,202,048. NPN compositions. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 21 May, 1968 [2 June, 1967], No. 25501/67. Heading A2B. A non protein nitrogen composition is prepared by mixing a water soluble polymeric material, such as cellulose ether, starch, starch either, natural gums, sodium alginate, or polyvinyl alcohol, with a substantially anhydrous molten NPN compound, such as urea. The composition may be formed into granules or blocks, which may be coated with a waterproof polymeric material, for example polyvinyl chloride or a copolymer thereof with polyvinyl acetate. The composition may also contain a hydrophobic material, such as calcium stearate, grain meal, spices, and mineral additives.
