Abstract
1,201,448. Nickel base alloy. INTERNATIONAL NICKEL Ltd. March 7, 1969 [March 21, 1968], No.12263/69. Heading C7A. A nickel base alloy comprises: - the balance, apart from impurities such as O, N, P, S, residual deoxidizing and cleansing elements and up to 0À5% Ta, being Ni and is so balanced that 2À2x(% Al) + 1À2x(% Ti) + 0À6x(% Nb) + 0À6x(% Mo) + 0À3x(% W) - 5x(% C) = 5À25 - 6À4%. The alloys may be aged at 705-760C. preferably followed by cooling at 11-28C./hour down to 595-65CfC. where it is held for 15-30 hours. In examples the cast alloy is soaked at 1175C. and then hot-worked with intermediate anneals at 1175C.
