Abstract

1,201,392. Textile treating compositions. CHEMISCHE FABRIK PFERSEE G.m.b.H. 4 Oct., 1967 [5 Oct., 1966; 17 Feb., 1967], No. 45290/67. Heading C3R. [Also in Division D1] An aqueous composition suitable for use in the treatment of cellulosic materials comprises monomethylol acrylamide or methacrylamide, an acidly-reacting hardening catalyst, e.g. magnesium or zinc chloride or nitrate, an ammonium salt or an amine hydrochloride, and one or more methylol compounds of other nitrogenous compounds, e.g. methylol compounds of urea, cyclic alkylene ureas, cyclic hydroxyalkylene ureas, aminotriazines, triazones, urone and carbamates of lower aliphatic and optionally substituted monohydric or polyhydric alcohols, and ethers thereof with aliphatic monohydric alcohols having 1-4 carbon atoms. The composition may also contain a lower carboxylic acid, e.g. acetic acid, optical brighteners, blueing dyestuffs and polyethylene.
