Abstract
1,200,892. 2 - Aminomethyl - 2,3 - dihydrobenzofurans. WARD BLENKINSOP & CO. 24 Oct., 1967 [27 Oct., 1966], No. 48325/66. Heading C2C. Compounds of formula wherein R, R<SP>1</SP> are each H, halogen or C 1-6 alkyl or alkoxy, are prepared by (a) heating the corresponding phthalimidomethyldihydrobenzofuran with hydrazine in a mutual solvent therefor, or (b) catalytically reducing the corresponding benzylaminomethyldihydrobenzofuran; the products may be converted to their acid addition salts. Compounds of the above formula wherein (a) R<SP>1</SP> is H and R is 5-Me, 5-MeO or 5-Cl, and (b) R, R 1 are 4,6-Me 2 , and their hydrochlorides, are claimed per se.
