Abstract
120,079. Bagley, D. Oct. 22, 1917. Coke ovens.-In a coke-oven structure having regenerators beneath the ovens divided by vertical partitiona S into compartments R, the air is deliveredto the compartments through a flue A which tapers uniformly from the inlet end. The innermost compartment R' serves two flues in the heating-wall, and the remainder are each connected with a single flue. All the compartments are connected by openings N in alinement with a sight hole T. The air-intake flue E adjoins the outermost compartment R<2> and prevents loss of heat. The outlet flue K for the waste gases is beneath the flue A, and leads through a valve P to the main flue W. The valves F, Pare inter. connected for simultaneous operation by a link L.
