Abstract

1299897 Fastening device VELCRO-FRANCE 5 Dec 1969 [5 Dec 1968 1 April 1969] 59588/69 Heading E2S A fastening device comprises a flexible band 1 which may be of plastics material on whose surface are rectilinear elements 3 with bulbous heads 4, and a second flexible band 2 which may also be plastics, having loops 5 formed from synthetic textile fibres provided on its face. When the bands 1, 2 are pressed together the elements 3 and loops 5 interengage strongly but can be separated by force. . In a second embodiment. Fig. 2 (not shown) band 2 is formed e.g. by a non-woven fabric of which one face is felted (15). The face (15) may alternatively be formed as a mesh or an openwork fabric of synthetic textile fibres.
