Abstract
1299889 Beat-up devices; shuttleless looms R B GOLOBART 10 Dec 1969 [11 Dec 1968] 60182/69 Heading D1E A shuttleless loom beat-up device comprises a base 1 with rollers 4, 4' running on the reed and a grooved wheel 6 which opens up the warp at the fell to beat-up a previously inserted weft. The device may be incorporated into a dummy shuttle (Figs. 3 to 5, not shown) which has a weft spool coaxially mounted on the beat-up wheel 6, to lay a weft simultaneously with beat-up of the previous weft, be incorporated into a shuttle having a wheel around which a loop of weft runs during insertion into the shed, be incorporated into a gripper shuttle or form the weft insertion head of a weft laying rapier.
