Abstract

1299477 Linkwork ecceritrics ELLISON TUFTING MACHINERY Ltd 19 April 1971 [23 April 1970] 19422/70 Heading F2K [Also in Division D1] The drive of the needle bar 16 of a tufting machine is so arranged that the stroke, from a predetermined lower plane in co-operation with the loopers 8, is adjustable. The drive of the loopers is also adjustable to maintain the correct phase relationship. The needle bar is oscillated by a pivoted lever 13 driven by a rod 9 from an adjustable eccentric 3, 4. The swing of the lever is varied by moving the end 10 of the rod along slots 11,12 depending whether the eccentrics are added or subtracted respectively. The looper eccentric 5 is angularly adjustable relative to its driving collar 19 to ensure co-operation of nee les and loopers.
