Abstract
1299472 Vehicles for lifting and tipping containers F FOS MFG CO Ltd 19 April 1971 [4 March 1970] 10346/70 Heading B8E In a vehicle for handling containers 10, Fig. 2, which comprises a U-shaped chassis 1, and U- shaped frames 2, 3 mounted thereon, a pair of wheels 14 are mounted on levers 15 pivoted to the chassis at 16 so that when rams 12 are extended to raise the frame 2 with respect to the chassis, links 18 rotate the levers 15 about pivots 16 and raise the chassis with respect to the ground. A second pair of rams 22 pivot the frame 3 relative to the frame 2 to tip the container. A latch 9, which is manually released, locks the frames 2, 3 to the chassis. The frame 2 is locked in the raised position by a device 21 which comprises an arm 51, Fig. 9, which is urged into engagement with a member 57 on the chassis by a spring 53. The rams may be operated separately or in series by a source of hydraulic fluid which may be either on the tractor which pulls the vehicle or on the vehicle itself.
