Abstract
1299327 Comb-line filters MICROWAVE DEVELOPMENT LABORATORIES Inc 26 May 1971 17085/71 Heading H1W In order to obtain a reduction in size, the resonators of a comb-line filter are capacitively loaded. The filter is of the kind comprising a number 1-5 of quarter-wave resonators each including a conductor of rectangular section connected at one end to a common earth 6 forming part of a conductive box 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. Each end of the filter may be matched to input or output by a conductor similar to but shorter than the conductors 1-5. The open-circuited ends are connected to earth, and to each other, by lumped capacitors C1-C5, and C12, C23, C34, C45. The first and last resonators are connected respectively by capacitors C6, C7 to input and output coaxial connectors 12, 13. At the centre of the pass band the conductors are less than half the length of a distributed constant quarter-wave resonator. The Specification gives a detailed design procedure.
