1299276 Beater mills BABCOCK & WILCOX Ltd 6 March 1970 [8 March 1969] 10930/70 Heading B2A A beater mill comprises an inlet 5 an outlet axially displaced along a drive shaft 1, an annular casing, beaters 2 and additional beaters 6. The spacing T2 between the beaters 2 is less than T6 between the additional beaters 6, while the radius R2 of the circles swept by the beaters, at least at the upstream end is greater than the radius R6 of the circles swept by the additional beaters. A fan 4 assists transport of material through the mill, which is supplied with hot air to assist drying, during the comminution of brown coal.
