Abstract
1299125 Incinerators POWER-GAS Ltd 19 April 1971 [2 Feb 1970] 4833/70 Heading F4B A fluidized bed incinerator 10 provided with a refuse charging opening 18 above a first bed region, and closable ash and incombustibles discharge openings 23 leading from a second bed region, is so fed with fluidizing air from pipes 17 through one or more air boxes 16 and with further air from pipes 24 that a circulation of the bed sand particles and the burning refuse, as shown by arrow 32, occurrs. Sand particles discharged from openings 23 are separated from the ash and incombustibles by screen 29 and returned to the bed in conveyer 30, chute 28 and gas space 21. The fluidizing air is distributed through an upper perforated plate 14, which may be inclined, and a lower horizontal perforated plate 15 which has a fine stainless steel mesh spot welded to its underside. A refuse shredder may be provided adjacent opening 18.
